Paros is one of the most popular islands in The Cyclades.
The island is not very big, 194 km2 with a population of approx. 8000
people. A steady flow of tourists, several thousand a day during high
season, come and go. Paros has excellent communication by ferries to
other islands. During high season, you have a choice of 30 other islands
during one week. You will love this idylic island and especially the
small town of Naoussa.
Paros is a fabulous island. It contains in
a way everything you expect to experience. Small, idyllic towns crammed
with white houses with their traditional blue window-shutters and doors,
white churches with blue domes, great beaches, good restaurants and
culture.Parikia the capital,is a place you have to have a close look
at. It is amazing walking through the streets from the harbour into the
city. The streets are gradually narrowing and in the end they are too
narrow for
cars.

The center of town is the windmill which used to serve as
the tourist information center, but now serves only as a windmill. What
the windmill does exactly, I am not sure, but the tourist police have
moved across the street and if you want information on ferry boats there
are at least half a dozen ticket agencies within fifty meters. Each
agency posts the weekly schedules on boards in front and by looking at
your options you realize that you can get just about anywhere from Paros
AMBELAS
Ambelas is a small fisherman/s village by the sea a few kms outside
Naoussa. The inhabitants are hospitable and they are fishermen. There
are beautiful traditional taverns where you can taste fresh fishes and
the island/s traditional plates. The people who desire to spend calm
family holidays, swimming clean beaches and good food must come to the
hospitable Ambelas.
